February “Tips From Tats” – Remember to Breathe

Breathing is such a simple action that is required to keep us alive each day, yet many of us struggle to focus on our breath.

Dr. Chad Sato of Aloha Chiropractic in Honolulu has taught us to breathe. Just a few deep breaths will help to reground yourself and connect you with your energy. Our ISI team does this together each morning, and we find that it is a great way to start the day with a good feeling.

One example of an easy breathing exercise you can do anytime is the 4-7-8 breathing technique. This breathing pattern involves breathing in for 4 seconds, holding your breath for 7 seconds, and exhaling for 8 seconds. Give it a try first thing in the morning, before bed, or anytime during the day when you feel the need to ground yourself.
